Background story on image: This was my first time to visit Alaska. The peacefulness in the presence of something so breathtaking is what really stands out in my memory. We are blessed with such majestic scenery in this country.

Artist statement: As important as the individual jewels of conservation like the National Parks are, our understanding of conservation as a global system is becoming increasingly imperative.  I thank the Wildlands Network for performing the important work of educating and coordinating the efforts to connect the wild areas on our continent.
