Matt grew up in Durango, CO, where he still lives with his wife, Brit, and dog, Stella. He's currently working on finishing his undergraduate degree in Biology at Fort Lewis College and is president of the Fort Lewis Ecology Club (a chapter of ESA SEEDS). He loves hiking, backpacking, and experiencing and learning about nature. Another of Matt's passions is martial arts. He's a second-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, competed as a professional mixed martial artist, and has spent the past 20 years teaching martial arts in Durango. Matt cares deeply about conservation and is excited to join the Wildlands Network team.
