We collaborate with landowners, managers and communities to understand ecosystem dynamics and provide technical support for habitat restoration.

Conservation Stories
Coastal Plains of North Carolina
Places where sea and land meet host a wealth of plants and animals that can thrive nowhere else. Eastern North Carolina has one of the last remaining coastal plain ecosystems with a full suite of species, including one of the world’s most endangered mammals, the red wolf. We work directly with private landowners, refuge managers and local partners to promote coexistence between red wolves, the species on which they depend, and the human communities that call this place home.
Forests of the Sierra Madre Occidental
We have protected some of the last intact old-growth forest habitats for thick-billed parrots in northern Mexico’s Sierra Madre Occidental in collaboration with conservation partners. Home to numerous communities that make their living off the land, this landscape faces threats from intensive resource extraction. We support the health of people and wildlife in the region by supporting community-led conservation initiatives to protect parrots and their habitat.
Foothills of the Eastern Sierra Nevada
One of the most well-known mountain ranges globally, the Sierra Nevada is a refugia for vegetation and wildlife in the face of climate change. Its also surrounded by some of the fastest-growing human communities in North America. We focus on maintaining connected habitats and ensuring safe passage across roadways for mountain lions and other wildlife roaming this landscape.
